Instead of frustration, ask yourself: “Could it be…”

It’s easy to think negatively about your partner when they do something that you don’t like. Especially when you are stressed and thus feeling more sensitive.

Instead of criticizing, you ought to ask yourself, “Could it be…?”

When you ask this question, you’re focusing on an alternative instead of going straight to the negative. For example, instead of thinking that your spouse is insensitive when they aren’t giving you attention, you might think, “Could it be that that they’re focused on getting work done right now?”

Most of the time, there are different perspectives to the experience. It is worth looking for the other perspectives before jumping to negative conclusions
