If you want to be doing something different in your life, just start acting like that. Eventually, it becomes your identity – what you believe and do. When you act from your identity, then the habits really last.
What is something you’d like to do successfully? A healthy lifestyle, spend more time with your children, go to shul every morning?
Ask yourself: “Who is the type of person that could get the outcome I want?”
Start by envisioning what success looks like: “If I was successful at [whatever], what would I be doing? How would I be behaving? What might I be doing? Who might I be spending time with?”
Then, do those things. One day at a time.
