First comes courage, then comes confidence.

Waiting for confidence to magically appear before taking action? It doesn’t work that way! Confidence comes from experience and a track record of actually doing things.

First comes courage, then the confidence. Instead of waiting for the confidence, we need to tap into our courage – to get started. Then, step by step, we’ll build the track record which gives us the confidence.

Courage is like taking a leap of faith. It’s knowing that everything we’ve been through has led us to this moment, this opportunity. We all have faced scary moments, challenges and failures, and we’re still standing. Deep inside, we all have the fortitude and resilience to make it through the faltering beginnings and shaky starts as we slowly and surely build that track record. The confidence will come.

Just starting something hard and new builds our sense of ‘I can do something hard’ which adds to our confidence and capabilities.  Soon enough, we’ll get to the place where we can say ‘Wow, I’ve come a long way!’
