Forget time management, you need attention management.

Deliberately choose what gets your attention so that you will become more productive.

  1. Know your priorities.  Identify the items on your to-do list that are a priority. This will ensure that you are not wasting your energy on something else.
  2. Put yourself in charge of your attention. Create blocks of time where you don’t use your phone. Write down your thoughts (or worries) to address at a designated time. Work in places with few(er) distractions.
  3. Minimize your multi-tasking. If you are working on one thing, finish it. It takes several minutes to get back to a task after you have been interrupted.
