Look at so much that you did right in your past.
Negativity bias. We so often let things of negative nature have more impact on us than positive. We focus more on the negative than the positive or neutral.
We all have so many wins and successes in our past along with some mistakes. Somehow, we focus more on the mistakes. Maybe because they are part of what brought us to what seems wrong in our lives.
It is worthwhile to make a list of things we did right through the years to counteract that list of mistakes we so easily ruminate on. Highlight our wins – big and small. When those negative thoughts about our mistakes creep in again, shift the thinking to this more positive list. Eventually, this positive thinking rewires our brains and new neural pathways are constructed. Our thinking becomes more positive – and productive.
