It may be hard to keep order in these days. Stuck home all day, meals and more meals at home. Activities and more activities to keep yourselves and the kids busy. All that can add up to a mess. No one is judging.
Clutter and mess can make us feel anxious and overwhelmed. It bombards our minds with excessive stimuli (visual, olfactory, tactile) that cause our senses to work overtime on stimuli that aren’t necessary or important. It also distracts us by drawing our attention away from what we ought to be focusing on.
Have a ‘sanity spot’. While it may be impossible to maintain your normal sense of order in these days, it is worthwhile to have at least one spot in your home that is kept orderly. A spot where you can sit down with a quick coffee and decompress for a few minutes. It can be a closet or a corner in your bedroom.
