LORA: Listen, Observe, Reflect, Act

LORA is a good rule of thumb for dealing with situations.

Listen. Take note of what is going on in the situation. Listen to learn, evaluate, and understand. Make sure your instinct isn’t to listen to confirm.

Observe. Try to ascertain what and who is contributing to the situation. Also, think about what is your role in this. What triggers might you be encountering?

Reflect. Think about what can you do in the situation. What are your values or needs that you want to address in your solution? Also consider what obstacles may come up. Reflect on why you want something to happen differently.

Act. Once you are clear on your WHY and HOW then act.
