Take a step back sometimes.

In a heated moment, often the best response is no response. Too often, the first impulse isn’t always the healthiest one. Often, it’s better to take a step back and wait before you make a final decision.

Our “emotional brains” often react much faster than our “thinking brains” and our emotions usually don’t make the best decisions. A step back allows you to cool down intense emotions.

Instead of reacting impulsively, wait for the dust to settle before making a choice or moving forward. Give yourself time and space to be patient before responding. Your response will be a much better one.
