Curiosity is about asking “Why?” or “What might be a reason…?” “What might be going on?” instead of assuming.
Curiosity opens our brain to new ways of looking at things and then to new ways of doing things. We seek to understand and then act from there.
“What might be going on for child that is making him act this way?”
“Why did my spouse do that?”
As possible, ask them directly. “What was going on for you when you did X?” “Help me better understand why you did X.”
Or at the very least, come up with a few reasons they may have done what they did. The several possibilities helps you see that you don’t really know what happened, and that you cannot assume to know the reason.
