Worrying is a waste of energy.

📌 Our minds have very little control over this world. Our mind can’t control the weather, other people, places and the things around us. When we worry, we are in a sense asking our mind to manipulate the world to make things go as we wish. But the mind just can’t do that.

We worry and hope that it doesn’t rain on our party. We worry that someone will hurt our feelings. We worry that the package won’t arrive on time. For some of us, this worrying might feel productive. But really, all that worrying causes distress, anxiety, pain. All that energy and time wasted just stressing us out.

🤔 We worry because we are afraid of pain or discomfort or not being in control.

“So far, we have all survived 100% of our worst days.”

What if we recognized that if things don’t work out perfectly, we actually could handle the pain, that the world won’t come to an end, that we could overcome it? How would that impact our worrying?

(If there is a chance that you can come up with a solution to prevent something from happening, then use that time and energy to plan.)
