Saying “YOU MAKE ME FEEL” indicates that you believe that feelings are inevitable responses to what someone has done to you.
You are giving your personal power away to someone else.
And, you are likely to antagonize your spouse, since it indicates blame.

So why do people say that? Why do people take on the role of victim?
Because they are reluctant to assume responsibility for their own responses.

Don’t play victim. Put yourself in charge.
Own your own feelings. Keep your power.

Giving away your power: – “You made me embarrassed when you …” – “You embarrassed me when you …”
Putting yourself in charge: – “I felt embarrassed when you …”

Giving away your power: -“You made me feel left out when …”
Putting yourself in charge: -“I felt left out when …”
