“I did this, so now you owe me.”
Healthy relationships are not built through quiet scorekeeping.
They are built when both people are genuinely looking for ways to care for each other,
support each other,
and make each other’s lives better.
And when both people are doing that,
both people usually end up feeling loved, valued, and cared for.
Because relationships become much heavier when everyone is focused on what they are not getting —
instead of how they can contribute to the relationship they are building together.
