Speaking up.

Not every feeling needs to be shared.
Not every irritation needs a conversation.

But important hurts,
concerns,
needs,
and feelings
deserve a voice.

Sometimes people stay quiet because they are afraid of how their spouse will react.
They do not want to upset them.
They do not want conflict.
They do not want to hurt their feelings.

So they push it down.
And push it down again.
Hide it under the rug.

But hidden does not mean gone.
Resentment often grows under the rug like mold in a dark, damp place.

You are responsible for sharing it honestly, kindly, and respectfully.
You are not responsible for controlling their reaction.

Healthy relationships are not built by avoiding important conversations.
They are built by addressing them.
