That quest for perfection, or the ‘best’, holds us back from the very good. By aiming for perfection, we set goals so unrealistic that they become impossible to reach. Sometimes, we don’t even start because we only want perfection and then we do nothing at all. This can make us feel lousy about ourselves, in a downward spiral.
Instead, strive for ‘better than yesterday’, or continuous progress. With the acceptance that improvement means that sometimes you will have setbacks, you will fall and you will make mistakes.
