Productive feelings move you closer to outcomes you want. But productive feelings don’t always feel pleasant. And sometimes unproductive feelings feel quite good. It’s not about positive (or negative) feelings, It’s about productive (and unproductive) feelings.
Endless hours on your phone may feel pleasant, but that is not productive.
Being out of your comfort zone may not feel pleasant, but it stretches you and is productive.
Not everything that feels good is really good. Feelings are just feelings. They are natural, so welcome and acknowledge them. And then separate the productive ones from unhelpful ones.
