Schedule alone time

Constantly being ‘on’ doesn’t give your brain a chance to rest and replenish itself. In this fast-paced world, we need some time to recharge. This is best done alone.

You will have to proactively put it in your daily calendar to actually make it happen. What gets scheduled gets done.

While alone time may feel unproductive or even lazy to some people, it’s actually essential to productivity and overall well-being. There are so many benefits to you and to your loved noes when you get alone time.

  • During alone-time, you can sort your thoughts and ideas. You’ll have a clearer mind to plan toward your priorities and dreams. You’ll get to reflect on how you are living your life and if you are acting from your values or passively letting things happen at you.
  • Having recharged, you will be calmer in your interactions with yourself, family and others.

Make a list of things you enjoy, like reading or walking, so you have some activities to choose from. Then, start by setting aside about 15 to 30 minutes a day for yourself. Do it every day.
