מודה אני לפניך
The simplest definition of Modeh is gratitude and thankfulness. We start our day with gratitude. Modeh also means admit, acknowledge, surrender.

We start our day by acknowledging to ourselves and to Hashem that we need Him. (It’s the very first words we say in the morning – even before we mention about ourselves אני .)

We are surrendering to His Will. “I surrender myself to You Hashem. I recognize that I am not in control of my life and I accept Your plans for me. So, I ask You to please provide me with what I need to live through my day according to what You want for me.”
