Think & Thank.

“Think and Thank”. These are the words on Sir Moses Montefiore’s coat of arms. He was a wealthy philanthropist and activist for causes in Eretz Yisrael and other places in the 1800s (think: Yemin Moshe, Ohel Moshe, Mishkenot Sha’ananim and much more).  He lived by the tenet of “Think of all the wonderful things you have in life and show thanks to Hashem for all that.”

These two words sound similar, and etymologists posit that these words come from the same source. The idea is that the more you think(ful) of something, the more thankful (grateful) you are for what has been done for you.
