It’s the Law of Reciprocity. When we do something for someone else, they tend to reciprocate.
When we’re generous, the other person is more likely to be generous toward us.
When we genuinely want to understand the other’s point of view, they’ll more likely to want to understand yours.
If the person we talk with believes you’re trying to show them that they’re wrong, they’ll reciprocate by trying to show us that we’re wrong.
Whenever we say anything that causes people to feel better about themselves, they’ll try to make us feel good too.
If we do a favor for another, they will likely want to do something back for us.
