Of course, you’d be willing to do anything for your kids. But don’t sacrifice your marriage for your kids. Put your spouse first. Never let your marriage fall to autopilot mode.
Firstly, one of the greatest gifts you can give your children is the security that comes from seeing their parents in a loving, committed marriage.
Also, think into the future, when the kids are grown and out of the house, and it will just be the two of you (it will happen someday soon enough, too soon). If you spent the first half of your marriage only around the children, you may not have much to speak about or do when it is just the two of you.
Leave the children with a babysitter and go out with your spouse, go on vacation together. Build your relationship – for your children’s sake and for the future you.
